  Global Energy Talent and Petrotech Society are organizing a business leader’s conclave to discuss the opportunities and challenges in leveraging Indian talent in hydrocarbon industry operations both in India and abroad. Business leaders from industry and academia would be present at this small closed door session. Industry veteran, Ian Rushby, till recently a senior executive at BP, would be moderating the discussion.

The discussions would be centered on the following topics:
  Can India develop a global oil and gas back office, similar to the IT industry? If so, what would be the critical steps?
  What are the possible ways in which Indian oil and gas organizations can support their international expansion efforts?
  Can India emerge as the knowledge services hub for oil& gas players globally
  Winning the competition for talent across industries
  Laying the pipeline for future talent-education & learning opportunities in the sector

Leaders Conclave India 4th Feb 2010

  Global Energy Talent convened a panel discussion among senior leaders in the Oil & Gas industry in South East Asia. The topic of discussion was “The Human Dimension of Oil & Gas: How to develop your capability today”. We brought together thought leaders from the industry in a closed door environment with the objective of sharing approaches and best practices pertaining to human capital management. The round table discussion was held in the capital city of Indonesia(Jakarta) followed by a similar event held in the capital city of Malaysia( Kaula Lampur) within the same week. The sessions were moderated by industry veteran & GET chairman Ian Rushby .The panelists included Technical leaders in Exploration & Production along with Human Resources managers responsible for talent development, from leading oil producers and service providers in Southeast Asia

The discussion centered on topics like:
  Future shape of the Oil &Gas industry in South East Asia and its implication on talent development
  Sources of talent to be tapped for the future
  Look and feel of the oil & gas firm of the future from a prospective employees perspective
  The role of oil & gas sector in South East Asian economy
